I have a new found respect for Barry Gibb.  Last night, the four final contestants of American Idol 6 each sang two Barry Gibb songs.  What a disaster!  Beatboxer Blake, the last remaining guy, just couldn't do a falsetto.  He tried, but ended up only proving that he really has little voice.  The 3 ladies ended up proving that it takes more than technique and a voice to sing Barry Gibb tunes.  LaKisha might as well just pack her bags--she was horrible.  Melinda Doolittle hit all the right notes, but just couldn't get the feel of the songs.  The best was 17 year old Jordin Sparks who sang To Love Somebody and Woman in Love.  The former she did well; the latter was ok.  While she clearly showed she has a voice, she missed a few notes in Woman in Love.  She clearly sings better than Barbra did when Barbra was 17, but Barbra was in her heydey when she sang Woman In Love.  I think and hope LaKisha will go home tonight.  She really doesn't deserve to be there.
