This was the biggest American Idol night ever. Voluptous and amazingly beautiful Jennifer Lopez mentored the eight final contestants on Latin night. Latin music is not easy to sing and it showed tonight. Usual strong performers did not come across well. LaKisha really could not handle it. Her Conga was the most painful performance of the evening. Ironically, perinneal bottom contestant Haley Scarnato floored viewers with her Turn the Beat Around--and her long slender legs. She really worked the crowd with her moves and her long-legged strutting. Her singing was also fitting for Latin night. Why the judges panned her is a mystery to me. On the other hand, the judges usual punching bag (Sanjaya) actually got some ok reviews. Truth be told, Sangina's Besame Mucho was one of the evening's better performances, along with Haley's and Blake's. Blake really pulled through with an passionate performance of a Marc Anthony classic. Who is at risk of going home? Sangina, Haley and Phil. The judges are killing Haley and Sangina. And Phil...ohh dear. The cadaverous Phil really hurt my ears with a dreadful performance of a dreadful song. The clinkers abounded and his voice cracked at least twice. I think it's time for Phil to go. BTW, my dream finale: Sangina's Hair Vs. Haley's Legs. Ironically, the two have the "it" factor and stand out amidst a relatively weak final eight. Anyways, I can't wait to see La Lopez perform live tomorrow!
