March 17, 2007--Barbra Streisand as Mary Shaw
You all know that I am always on an endless quest for new movie roles for Barbra.  Last night I saw Dead Silence.  Ironically, I think of that title sometimes when I think of Barbra.  Anyway, the movie is about an evil, dead, murderous, ugly, elderly and cruel ventriloquist.  In all of Hollywood, who could be better for this part? Some might think it is too self-referential (everyone hates and fears her, she's heartless, etc...), but I really think Barbra would have been a better choice over Judith Roberts.  Hopefully, the producers will see this before they do the sequel (all horror films have sequels).  Check out the trailer at http://www.deadsilencemovie.net/.

I love Barbra Streisand's voice. I also think she's a very beautiful woman. And I completely admire her artistic contributions to the world. But I have to admit that I think she is just a bit weird. And not in an unusual way.
When asked by Ellen DeGeneres "What kind of music do you listen to?" she responded, "I don't listen to music."
Not if she can help it. "I would never even dream of it." She also revealed she doesn't watch television except for the news and the show "24." Is she still playing the schtick of saying the unexpected to surprise people? That's how she came to fame. She only recorded her latest album because of pressure from the record company. She doesn't crave working and recording is "torture." Here is a woman with the most beautiful voice and she doesn't want to use it? I lose respect for her the more she speaks.
