March 6, 2007--Another Bushbaby?

Has Simon finally lost it? I'm referring to Simon Cowell of American Idol. More than once he has stressed that this is a singing competition, but today he referred to one contestant as "weird". In addition, Simon was bothered by Phil Stacey's look and what appeared to be his huge eyes. Reminded me of that other guy with the big eyes that Simon dubbed the "bushbaby". Phil really should have stood up to this and reminded Simon that this is about the voice. Looks aren't everything. If you don't believe me just look at Streisand's history. No body, yet a singing superstar; no face, yet a box office hit; no taste, yet a fashion icon. It's ultimately about talent--not looks or personality. Look what's happening to Taylor Hicks. Taylor won American Idol on personality and is rapidly becoming the least successful of the Idols.

BTW, what's with Sanjaya's hair? I'm really starting to think that since they have so few talented guys they moved a girl to the guys side. And that hula dance! Still, it's about talent. Something which Sanjaya is failing to show. Dude, either butch up or start some real singing.

Well, I think you're wrong. Explain this: Barbra is an artist, right? That means she paints and draws pictures. If you look at the "Art" section of this site, you will see all the lovely art that Barbra has painted over the years. That said, I still don't understand all the American Idol talk unless Barbra is planning to make an appearance on the show? That would be a work of art! Love, Trixie.

Barbra here. I do run this site. Well, actually, Emily runs this site. I set it up as a reality check for those who hate me. From what I've learned, you all didn't particularly care for my "Wet" album, so I'm doing a new album called "Dry." Can you suggest some songs for me? So far, only Trixie and Brian have added any relevant meaning to the conversation here. And now Felecia has weighed in with some relevant thoughts. I'm considering going to Washington, D.C., where my fan base seems to be more loyal. Any thoughts?

Hi Barbra - thanks for involving us fans in your creative process. I have a few suggestions for the Dry album -

"'Dem Dry Bones - O Hear the Word of the Lord"
"Running on Empty"
"I Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry"
"My Eyes Are Dry"
"Tears Dry on their Own"
"Parched With Thirst I Am and Dying".

Oh and that song with the chorus that goes something like this:

How dry I am
How wet I'll be
If I don't find
the Bathroom key

Maybe you could use those lryics and use the music from "Emily". Of course, the Bergmans should be able to come up with additional lyrics if necessary.

I heard about the lawsuit. She's such a diva, you know what I mean? So maybe I won't tug on my ear. Any suggestions on how I can get a secret message to you? I could tug on something else, but that's the sentiment that helped get The Family Guy in trouble. I already yelled "STFU" as a secret message to hecklers everywhere. Did you like?
