John McCain took a huge gamble--picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. Babs called his selection a "cynical ploy...a transparent, irresponsible decision" and referred to Governor Palin as an "virtual unknown" who has no national experience. Even more disturbing are her references to how old John McCain is. Kind of the pot calling the kettle black. Personally, I am offended by the people who attack McCain's age. Just because someone is old, does not mean they cannot work, lead or think. The Democrats should be ashamed of using age in this manner. Aren't the democrats supposed to be the champions of everyone's civil rights, whether white, black, christian, jew, gay or straight, etc? Or is that only true if you are young? and a Democrat?

I guess they figure it's so essential that it can wait. It's now scheduled for a September 30 release--a fool month after the release of Essential 3.0s from Billy Joel, Heart and Kenny Loggins.

The anything but Essential 3.0 has been postponed to a September 16 release date, prompting speculation that the third disk tracks are still not final and that some changes have been made.

Late last year, Sony issued a "Super Hits" CD adding to her endless list of compilations and re-releases. Of course, the CD includes People. No surprise there. But what is a surprise was the inclusion of Miss Marmelstein, If I Could and I've Dreamed of You which were anything but hits. Why is it that Barbra's hits cds always include non-hits?

According to Barbra News, the track listing for the "bonus" CD of the 3.0 Essential Streisand is incorrect. If Barbra News is correct, then none of the songs included on the bonus cd will be a new cd release. Au contraire, they will be previously released and totally unecessary. For example, the live "Evergreen" (on two cds already, By The Way (on two cds already-and one of her worst songs ever) and a few other very non-essential recordings. What a crock!
